Chronic Constipation-Study in response to your multiple questions

"It is unlikely that the use of stimulant laxatives at normal doses are harmful to the colon. Although chronic constipation appears to be associated with a higher risk of colorectal cancer, there are no data to support that stimulant laxatives use is an independent risk factor."- Am J Gastroenterol. 2005;100:232-242, WebMD

Dr. Jeff M Ventre

It never occured to me that I had failed to introduce "Jeff". I just keep making reference to him. Since I am picking up some "coding" and am now better able to tweak my site from time to time, I think Jeff deserves a proper introduction. Be patient, I may have to do this in pieces.

Jeff is the beer-holder without the hat, aka, "the only guy I know that would carry rocks up and down the ladder." (see image below).

He's the guy that you want on your team when you go on "Survivor, Saba". Jeff is also the guy you don't want to be standing next to for the final challenge.

("I went night fishing after my exams and caught 3 snapper and a crab."-JMV)

More as time permits. For now, feel free to go to the photo gallery (Saba) to partake in the visual grandness that is Dr. Jeff M Ventre.

All sarcasm aside, Jeff remains one of the deepest, most intelligent, and closest friends I count in all my experience at Saba.

Crisis on Saba

Hurricane Ivan? Nope.
Five minutes of light rain-that was Ivan.

But if you consider malnutrition/starvation due to lack of food shipments via "THE BOAT" for the last two weeks a crisis, you are with the rest of us who fought over the last picked-over, already outdated food items. But take heart, though you can't get that pint of Ben and Jerry's you will have no problems procuring several pints of Vodka or any other alcoholic beverage subsidized by the Dutch government.

Hi all. I know its been a long time. But I have been so busy and Black Monday is here so this will be ever so short...I want to thank everyone who sent me care packages this term. It really means a lot to me. I couldn't be more appreciative. And, Mikey...thanks for my "Bug-Ass-Kickin'Bear", oh...thanks to Lynsey and Mom too! Gotta go! Love you all. Wish me continued luck and support!

My shipping address

I can't tell you how nice it is to receive letters and parcels from you guys.....

And the reason I can't tell you is because NONE OF YOU HAVE!

All my friends get mail and care packages, and I enthusiastically check my box everyday only to find it once again, completely void.

Okay so I'm laying it on a bit thick, but I really would appreciate receiving any little item that says someone loves me...even just a postcard.

Having said all this, the address to my box is as follows:
Erica D. Deegan
C/O Saba University School of Medicine
P.O. Box 1000
The Church Street
Saba, Netherland-Antilles, The Caribbean

If you are sending a parcel, UPS is the best way to go. USPS has been know to lose parcels and mail indefinately between the islands-but I warn you UPS is a bit expensive.

Once again, thanks for visiting my site and I love hearing from you...

Erica.

Sorry its been so long....

Well, BLACK MONDAY is upon me again. For those of you who are not familiar with this infamous day, it is the time of administration for Block Finals. I take typically two-three, depending on the arrangement of the Cadaver Block. Other than feeling tremendous pressure, things are good. I miss everyone very much and hope to make it back to the states after first semester. Thanks everyone for your support, and I look forward to hearing from you all. A special thanks to Tim for creating and maintaining this kick-ass site.

Much love,
Erica.
